No. 13 Texas A&M softball (7–3) closed the Clearwater Invitational with two wins, but the Aggies came up short in both of their ranked matchups. Now they turn the page to the Mary Nutter Classic, where four Top‑25 opponents await—starting with No. 14 Oregon (5–4) on Saturday.

A&M is still searching for stability on defense and in the circle. Through the first few weeks of the 2026 season, the Aggies have committed too many errors and surrendered too many big swings in high‑leverage moments.

Head coach Trisha Ford has been clear since opening weekend: this group will experience growing pains as roles settle and the staff identifies the best combinations. Even so, the offense has shown encouraging flashes, and once a few more hitters find their rhythm, this lineup has the potential to be a difficult out.
