Man Utd Fans Still Waiting for Amorim to Speak After Candido Misses the Mark

Ruben Amorim still hasn’t spoken to Manchester United fans since his departure, but his assistant coach Adelio Candido has now had his say — though he may not have addressed what supporters really wanted to hear.

Some Man Utd fans have grown frustrated by Amorim’s silence following his exit, with many simply hoping for a message of thanks or acknowledgement of their support.

Instead, it was Adelio Candido who spoke up first. He reflected on their spell at Old Trafford and shared some insights into what happened behind the scenes during their time there.

From the very beginning, Amorim framed his United appointment as a long-term project, warning supporters there would be difficult periods along the way.

Since then, Michael Carrick’s steady hand has cast doubt on those claims, and Candido’s recent remarks looking back don’t exactly add weight to them.

In an interview with A Bola, Candido spoke about Amorim’s departure from United. He thanked fans for supporting the “project” rather than demanding quick results and then shared a concerning insight.

He said: “Experience is always experience, whether the outcome is good or bad, we always come away with learning. In Manchester, I really liked the city and the way the fans experience football, more focused on the project than on the immediate result.

“What I liked least was, without a doubt, feeling that our ideas weren’t fully implemented.”

Candido’s comments seem to overlook an important point: after 14 months in charge, if their ideas hadn’t taken hold by then, it could be argued they just weren’t right for the club in the first place.

Ruben Amorim is yet to Speak on Manchester United Exit

Ruben Amorim still hasn’t spoken publicly about his time at Manchester United, but his assistant, Adelio Candido, has broken the silence in a way that hasn’t helped matters.

Fans haven’t let go of the fact that Ruben Amorim has stayed quiet since leaving the club.

He wouldn’t have lost anyone by just posting a simple thank-you message, but even that didn’t come.

Candido recently spoke up about their stint at Old Trafford and what it was like working under Ruben Amorim.

Candido Speaks on the ‘Project’ That Never Materialised

From day one, Amorim described the United job as a long-term project and warned fans there would be “suffering” along the way. But with Michael Carrick now in charge and already making progress, those words don’t hold up quite as well.

Speaking to A Bola, Candido looked back on their time at United. He thanked fans for believing in the “project” rather than just results while admitting one major regret from their spell at Old Trafford.

“Experience is always experience, whether the outcome is good or bad, we always come away with learning. In Manchester, I really liked the city and the way the fans experience football, more focused on the project than on the immediate result”, he said.

“What I liked least was, without a doubt, feeling that our ideas weren’t fully implemented”, he added.

The team gave him more time than the results probably deserved because they believed in what he was building. But even with that patience, things didn’t improve. It raises questions about whether his methods suited Premier League football or if he simply couldn’t get them across clearly enough to make them work.

Candido’s Comments Reflect Larger Issues for Amorim

Candido backs up Amorim’s belief that there was no issue with his philosophy itself – it was just a failure in putting it into practice. Even if you take their word for it, that still doesn’t reflect well on them, given how differently things have looked under Carrick.

After Amorim’s departure, Carrick has managed to win almost every single match, and signings like Cunha and Sesko are playing in elite performance, as was expected when they were signed, but the Portuguese coach failed to achieve this.

Amorim ended up being frustrated with his own players, and that frustration translated into poor playing quality on the pitch, making it unsustainable to manage the club for a longer period of time.
