Mumbai: A property fraud involving forged documents and illegal transfer of two high-value flats worth Rs 17 crore in Bandra West has surfaced following a complaint by caretaker Musharraf Maqbool Ansari, 40.

The Bandra police registered an FIR against Seema Varadkar, Kalpesh Patel, Ajinkya Varadkar, Mohammad Akhtar Sheikh, Abid alias Sameer Hussain, Rakesh Pawar, Roshan Kumar Sav and others for conspiracy, forgery and cheating. The Economic Offences Wing arrested Abid Hussain and Ajinkya Varadkar.

Ansari, caretaker since 2005, said Merchant never sold the property. Police recovered alleged forged sale deeds, possession letters and NOCs showing transactions in 2000 and 2024. Ansari claimed the signatures and society documents were fake.
