The New York Giants select Arizona State wide receiver Jordyn Tyson with the No. 5 overall pick in The Sporting News’ two-round 2026 NFL mock draft.

Tyson is widely regarded as one of the top talents in the 2026 NFL draft wide receiver class. Pro Football Focus ranks the 21-year-old as the third-highest wide receiver on their NFL draft Big Board. In 2025, he recorded 61 receptions for 711 yards and eight touchdowns across nine games.

The Sporting News analyst Vinnie Iyer has the Giants selecting Tyson at No. 5 overall.

The Giants need to upgrade their recieving corps opposite Malik Nabers with Wan'Dale Robinson looking like he will the slot in free agency. Tyson would form a great 1-2 punch outside with Nabers to raise the big passing quotient of Jaxson Dart in Year 2.

Robinson’s status as a pending unrestricted free agent adds urgency for New York to address the position early in the draft. The slot receiver had a strong 2025 season, finishing with 1,014 receiving yards and earning recognition as a high-value impending free agent.

Tyson joins Ohio State’s Carnell Tate and USC’s Makai Lemon as the three wide receivers projected to come off the board first among their position group, with all carrying top-10 potential.

In Round 2, Iyer has the Giants selecting Oregon safety Dillon Thieneman.

The Giants need an effective clean-up man to put next to Jevon Holland and upgrade from Tyler Nubin and Thienmann would give them what they lost in Xavier McKinney.

How would you feel about those picks, Giants fans?
