A Florida youth football player has gone viral recently for revealing his plans to enter the ‘transfer portal,‘ but the outrage on social media has arisen because the child is only nine years old.

Levi ‘Tonka’ Rodriguez went viral recently after posting on Instagram that he plans to move teams for the 2026 fall football season. However, Rodriguez is currently competing in the U9 age group and is still far away from college football.

According to his posts, the Florida youth football player plays a variety of positions, including linebacker, offensive lineman and kicker. Meanwhile, the class of 2036 athlete is hoping to find a new team next season.

Social media has picked up Rodriguez’s story recently and somewhat mocked the child and the transfer portal system for engraining the idea in player’s heads.

At the college football level, over 10,000 players entered the transfer portal in 2026 across all levels of play. Roughly 3,200 of those football players marked scholarship athletes competing at the Division 1 level.

According to RNR Sports Media, Rodriguez is a huge NFL fan and loves Minnesota Vikings receiver Justin Jefferson. Meanwhile, ‘Tonka’ listed his three dream college football teams to play at as Florida, Central Florida and Ohio State.
