The MLS club owned by David Beckham won MLS Cup at the end of last season, and President Donald Trump is hosting the champions.
Beckham, though, won't be there.
The reason is a fair one, reported by CNN's Kit Maher on X: "David Beckham, one of the owners, is not attending the event because he’s in Europe for his wife Victoria’s fashion show, the (White House) official added."
Beckham was essentially the entire architect of the Inter Miami project.
MLS had 24 teams before it came to Miami as an expansion club.
Beckham brought in high-profile names to help form the club, and then Inter Miami also brought in world-class players on the field.
Lionel Messi, maybe the greatest player ever, highlighted those moves.

Messi was joined by the likes of Sergio Busquets, Luis Suarez and Jordi Alba.
This wasn't just an all-star team. It was an all-world team.
Beckham's project began winning immediately when Messi and company arrived, and it culminated in that league championship at the end of the 2025 season.
He himself a former MLS import, an Englishman who brought a whirlwind when he joined LA Galaxy, Beckham took things to another level by bringing Messi to the league.
It rewarded Inter Miami's ownership group with a championship, and now a visit to the White House.
Beckham isn't there, but his impact certainly is.
