Derrick White on what went wrong for Boston Celtics in loss to Charlotte Hornets
· Yahoo Sports
For whatever reason, the Boston Celtics came out sluggish against the Charlotte Hornets at TD Garden Wednesday (March 4) night in their 118-89 loss that snapped their four-game win streak at home. Perhaps it was a case of underestimating the hottest team in the NBA at the moment, or just one of those nights.
But Boston point guard Derrick White had some thoughts about what went wrong for the Celtics in the loss to the Hornets postgame, saying "I think we got off to a slow start (for a) couple different reasons, and then (we were) chasing the whole game and trying to battle back.

"And I feel like we get momentum, and then a play or two doesn’t go our way, and they made us pay with either a 3 or maybe a costly turnover or whatever it might be," added White. "So (we) got off to that slow start and kind of chasing the whole game. We were never able to really get over that hill."
Boston's tendency of getting offensive boards at a high clip and forcing turnovers did not materialize in this contest. Asked what kept the Celtics out of their usual groove in that regard, White replied it was the Hornets. "I think we got our hands on a lot of offensive rebounds, but we weren’t able to really come down with them like we have in the past."
"And obviously defensively, we've got to be more active, get some steals, cause some turnovers, that’s a great way for us to get offense, to get kind of easy baskets, and get some momentum that way."
