March 5 (UPI) -- Spain's Celta Vigo has reached out to Madonna in its quest to find a soccer jersey the Queen of Pop wore at a 1990 concert.
Marian Mourino, the president of the La Liga club, posted a letter to her Thursday.

Madonna wore the sky blue No. 5 jersey of former defender Jose Manuel Espinosa during the show on July 29. 1990, at the Balaidos Stadium in Vigo. The show was one of her last stops on the Blond Ambition tour.
"That memory remains very much alive among our fans," Mourino wrote. "Your image in our jersey has become a myth and is part of that Celta history that is also written off the field of play. Many see all this as a mere anecdote. But I like to think that nothing happens by chance.
"Although it was not the only football jersey you wore on stage, that image began to shine differently over the years. Because we better understand what you were defending back then: challenging the established order and standing up to those who presume to tell you what you can or cannot do.
"In the club I preside over, we recognize ourselves in that way of being in the world. That's why we have the hope of finding this garment. This search is not a whim; it is an act of memory, it is the emotional heritage of our club."

Celta Vigo also plans to dedicate a "gesture of affection" to Madonna before its match against Real Madrid on Friday in Vigo.
"Do you still have it? If you know where it might be or want to help us, please contact us by private message," Mourino wrote.
Celta Vigo said it has searched "privately for years," but the "investigation has hit a wall." The team plans to add the jersey, which they called "unique and irreplaceable," to its historical archive.
Celta Vigo will host Real Madrid at 3 p.m. EST Friday in Vigo.
