SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — The No. 19 Water Valley High School boys basketball team is a win away from reaching the Class 1A Division I state semifinals, but the Wildcats know it won’t be easy to beat No. 6 Munday to get there.
Water Valley (22-3) and Munday (28-9) are meeting in the playoffs for a second-straight year when they clash in the regional finals at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Abilene Christian University.

The Wildcats shook off the Moguls 45-40 last year in the regional semifinals, before coming up short against Garden City in the regional finals.
Water Valley is on a 12-game winning streak, and the Wildcats celebrated their first district championship in a decade.
Munday has won three in a row.
The Wildcats are the only Concho Valley team on the boys’ side that is still fighting for a state championship.
