Hagan also had 10 steals and seven rebounds. Newby also had 14 rebounds, nine blocks and six steals.
“I thought the second half was really good offensively,” Newby said. “After halftime we knew we needed to focus, make good passes. I try to do everything on the court, get my hands on the ball, we all try to play together.”
Catholic was down 12-9 after the first quarter, but Hagan got more active in the second quarter and she hit six of seven free throws.
Newby got rolling in the third and fourth quarters, when she scored 11 points.
“In the second half, where our offense was good was when we started turning them over, getting easy buckets. We settled for a lot of 3s (early). We struggled in our man, but when we went to our zone press that really sped them up, that was a game changer.
“Katie got her hands on the basketball and got some easy buckets. Taylor played a good floor game. Katie had 10 steals, that’s one off the school record.
