Demetrious Johnson slams 'bullsh*t' fight offer vs. Muhammad Mokaev

· Yahoo Sports

Demetrious Johnson has once again reiterated that he's retired, despite fellow former UFC flyweight Muhammad Mokaev saying he was offered a fight.

"Mighty Mouse" walked away from MMA competition soon after a title defense over Adriano Moraes at ONE Fight Night 10 in 2023. The former UFC and ONE Championship titleholder's name has popped up in fight rumors from time to time, but Johnson (25-4-1) has stated in multiple interviews that he's content in retirement. However, his name came up once again, this time from Mokaev (15-0).

Following a loss in a submission-only grappling match against Arman Tsarukyan, Mokaev said his intentions are to return to MMA following Ramadan.

"I was offered a very interesting fight," Mokaev told Red Corner MMA in Russian (translated by Red Corner MMA). "Most likely it'll be Demetrious Johnson. The negotiations are on, so we're waiting. We will see. I accepted, so we are waiting for his decision."

Once Johnson caught wind of Mokaev's comments, he quickly squashed any hopes of a return.

"This sh*t right here is absolutely bullsh*t," Johnson said in an Instagram Reel. "... Guys, my Black ass is retired, never coming back to compete ever again. If I do, it would be for IBJJF. Even then, I only train one day a f*cking week – and, another thing, shame on the promoter. Shame on the promoter who's out there trying to pitch fights to other athletes when they know my Black ass retired.

"Muhammad Mokaev, just text me, brother. They lied to you. I just sent you a DM. Get back to me, and we'll let people know who this asshole is who's spreading lies."
