It will be played over two legs, with the first leg being held at the Santiago Bernabeu and the second at the Allianz Arena.
Ahead of the game, there is understandably much noise over why the Germans are the favourites to advance, given Real Madrid’s poor form and injury struggles this season.
After all, even Thibaut Courtois will now miss the game through injury.

With full respect to the Spanish giants, he elaborated on what made Real Madrid dangerous even when they are not at their best, sending a warning to his players.
“Real Madrid don’t play very good football, but they are outstanding in terms of experience, they are in peak physical condition,” he said.
The honorary president then spoke on how the experience in Real Madrid’s dressing room, especially with respect to the UEFA Champions League, handed them an edge.
“They are once again not doing so well in the league, but they can rely on their wealth of experience.”
Finally, Hoeneß admitted that the result of the upcoming quarterfinal tie was anything but a given, contrary to everything being said in the media.
“It would be totally presumptuous to assume that we’ll definitely advance, but we haven’t had such a big chance in terms of playing quality as this year for a long time.”
