This week's poll features five players who had standout performances during the final week of the MHSAA girls basketball season (March 15-22).
Voting will close at noon on Friday, March 27.
Here are the nominees (listed in alphabetical order by last name):
Kayla Hairston, Goodrich
Goodrich became the first team in MHSAA history to win 29 games in season after winning the Division 2 state championship on Saturday, March 21, capping an undefeated season. During the Martain's final week of play, senior guard Kayla Hairston averaged 18 points a game gainst Detroit Country Day, Grand Rapids South Christian and Tecumseh.
Mya Hemmer, Ishpeming
Hemmer's near triple-double performance set the stage for Ishpeming to reclaim the Division 4 state championship in a 48-28 victory over Portland St. Patrick on Saturday. Hemmer, who is commited to play volleyball at Baylor, finshed her final basketball game with 18 points, 17 rebounds, nine blocks and six steals.
Kenna Hunt, Jackson Lumen Christi
The sophomore guard led Lumen Christi to the program's first championship on Saturday when it defeated Pewamo-Westphalia, 52-36, in the Division 3 title game. Hunt scored 21 points and had 10 rebounds in the championship game.
Mariah Sain, Muskegon
The 2026 Miss Basketball runner-up led Muskegon to its first championship in program history after pulling off a 34-29 comeback victory against Detroit Renaissance in the Division 1 title game. Sain began her final week with a 34-point performance in the team's win against Grand Haven on Tuesday, March 17 during the state quarterfinals. Three days later, she led Muskegon to a 69-46 state semifinal win over Utica Eisenhower where she scored 25 points. Her 14 points carried the Big Reds on Saturday to their championship victory.
Avery Zajac, Tecumseh
In her first year on the roster, Zajac was a major contributor Tecumseh's path back to the D-2 state finals. The guard averaged 20 points a game during the team's final three matchups against Carleton Airport, Flint Powers Catholic and Goodrich.
