Maatrubhumi Release Date: Salman Khan Starrer To Release In May This Year?

Salman Khan starrer Maatrubhumi, which was earlier titled Battle of Galwan, is undoubtedly one of the most-awaited films of the year. The film was earlier slated to release on April 17, 2026, but it has been postponed, and the makers have not yet officially announced the new release date. However, according to a report in Bollywood Hungama, Maatrubhumi might be released on May 15, 2026.

A source told the portal, “The additional shoot is done and the film will be ready soon. Hence, the makers feel that it's better to bring out the film sooner rather than later. They are looking at several options and are seriously considering May 15.”

The source further revealed that the makers are considering another release date, which would be between July and October. The source added, "At one point, they wanted to get the film out on Independence Day, but that won’t be possible as Aamir Khan has taken the slot for the Sunny Deol-starrer Lahore 1947. The current plan is to ascertain if releasing Maatrubhumi on May 15 is possible. If not, they’ll bring it later.”
The official announcement about the release date is expected soon.

Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, Maatrubhumi stars Chitrangada Singh as the female lead. On Eid this year, the makers had unveiled a romantic track featuring Chitrangada and Salman, which received a good response from netizens.

Apart from Maaturbhumi, Salman has a film with Vamshi Paidipally, which stars Nayanthara as the female lead. The movie was officially announced a few days ago.

Salman's fans are super excited about his movie with Nayanthara. While the release date of the film is not yet announced, reportedly, Salman wants the movie to hit the big screens on Eid 2027.
