The objective of this initiative is to ensure that no eligible student is deprived of the scholarship due to technical or other issues. The scheme will benefit students from the General category, Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and the transgender community, marking an important step toward social inclusion.
According to the Social Welfare Department, a similar initiative was taken in the 2024-25 financial year, when the portal was reopened. Through that effort, 53,041 students received scholarships and fee reimbursements totaling ₹81.12 crore. Among them, 25,395 SC students received ₹30.65 crore, while 27,646 students from the General category received ₹50.47 crore in assistance.
Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Social Welfare Aseem Arun said, “Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the state government is committed to ensuring equal opportunities in education.” He added that the government’s effort is to ensure that every needy student receives the benefit of education and that no one is forced to discontinue studies due to financial constraints.
This initiative by the state government will not only promote inclusive development in the education sector but will also play an important role in empowering youth and making them self-reliant. It will give thousands of students another opportunity to continue their education and secure their future.
