The Florida State Seminoles softball team is on the verge of being a top five team in the country. FSU once again had a perfect week, sweeping the Notre Dame Fighting Irish to extend its winning streak to 24 games, the longest active streak in the country.

The Seminoles are now the No. 6 team in Softball America's Week 10 Top 25, climbing two spots for the second straight week. They are 35-4 overall and 12-0 in ACC play, with their last loss coming against the Alabama Crimson Tide on Feb. 21.

While FSU swept Notre Dame and outscored them 25-6, they were pushed in Game Three of the series and had to come back from an early 4-0 hole. They did not play a midweek game as they get ready for the second half of ACC play

FSU will return to action on Wednesday when they play the Santa Clara Broncos in Santa Clara, California. They will then play the Stanford Cardinal over the weekend.

The Seminoles are the highest-ranked ACC team in the poll, with No. 11 Virginia Tech on the verge of joining them in the top 10. No. 15 Duke, No. 21 Virginia, and No. 24 Louisville give them five teams in the top 25. All four of FSU's losses have come against top 10 opponents.
