With players from as far away as South Carolina, dozens of kids participated in various drills and competitions, as well education on the recruiting process.
The purpose of the free showcase, which was held at Darling Stadium, is for players to get noticed by various recruiting outlets such as On3, Rivals and Virginia Preps.
Getting that kind of exposure can help a player get noticed by colleges and ultimately, help them get a scholarship.
Reamon is no stranger to football in Hampton Roads. He was a standout at player at Gloucester and played at Old Dominion.
His father, the late Tommy Sr., was a high school legend who coached and mentored hundreds of kids over the years.
“As much as he wanted to win, he wanted to help kids,” Reamon said. “If you had a dream, he wanted to help you chase it.”
Reamon said he knows Tommy Sr. looking down at his son with a proud smile.
“The only thing that’s missing is him,” Reamon said. “I miss him dearly.”
Reamon says expect more showcase events in the future.
