Quarterback competitions are some of the most fun things in the NFL, but unfortunately for Cleveland Browns fans, they know it all too well. Not all the time do quarterback competitions work out, and Cleveland is seemingly going into one of those situations once again.

When speaking about what the quarterback situation might look like, it doesn't even sound like the coaching staff has an answer just yet.

Head coach Todd Monken made that rather clear when discussing the situation between Deshaun Watson, Shedeur Sanders, and Dillon Gabriel.

“No, not really, because there's enough there of all three,” Monken said. “I mean, I think we'd all be able to say that. There's enough there to really like Deshaun [Watson] and the way he plays. There's enough there to really like the way Shedeur [Sanders] played at the back end of the year. And there's enough early in the year from Dillon [Gabriel] that is playing the position at a very high level.”

There are a couple of different takeaways here, but the most important one, in my opinion, is the fact that the Browns aren't going to come out and name a QB1 just yet.

That isn't a knock on any of the guys in the locker room or quarterback room, but it simply is because they want to ensure that they have an opportunity to battle it out during camp. Giving the keys to one quarterback right now and not going with that option in the season would also raise red flags.

It's truly an open competition right now, so any of the three can win it.
