The New York Giants and the Dexter Lawrence contract saga don't appear close to a resolution right now, despite the defensive stud requesting a trade away from the NFC East franchise.
Many think it is a pure negotiation tactic from Lawrence and his agent to help push through a deal, but there is also a thought that if the Giants don't come to the party contract-wise, he could look to play elsewhere in 2026.
I'm not sure how Giants fans would feel about losing their best defensive player right when the arrow appears to be trending upward.
But Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer is here to ease those concerns for Giants fans.
“I think Dexter Lawrence II will remain a Giant," Breer wrote. "Looking back at the history of John Harbaugh and how he and his teams have valued big men on both sides of the ball over the years, it would seem likely that he and GM Joe Schoen and his staff will find a way to keep Lawrence.
"New York already has the makings of a really good defensive front. No need to mess with that."

Will Giants get Lawrence resolution?
As I stated above, the Giants won't want to lose their best player, so I'm sure something will be worked out.
The Giants appear to be turning a corner, and the last thing the franchise will want is to lose a player like Lawrence. While it might not be a quick resolution, I get the feeling there will be one.
The last thing the Giants want is a Micah Parsons situation like the one the Dallas Cowboys had last season, because that was just awful.
I don't think it will get that far, but the longer it goes without contract movement for Lawrence, the more nervous fans will become.
