Windber 16, Portage 5: In Portage, Cameron Mash went 4-for-4 with three runs and two RBIs, and Rylee Baer hit a grand slam, walked three times and drove in five runs as the Ramblers pulled away from the Mustangs Monday.

Cameron Mash, Brooke Stager

Emma Kelly and Sadie Pecze each had three hits. Kelly homered and Pecze smacked two doubles for the Ramblers.

Reese Pinizzotto had two doubles, and Mikaila McCoy doubled for Portage.

Westmont Hilltop 5, Richland 4: Bella Kist hit a walk-off homer in the bottom of the seventh as the host Hilltoppers defeated the Rams.

Westmont Hilltop's Abby Rozich had three knocks, including a double, and Sara Gibbons hit a homer as the undefeated Hilltoppers won their seventh game. Liz Veranese doubled and drove in a run.

Richland’s Kallie Clawson had two hits, including a home run, and scored twice. Alea Ladika and Marissa Naylor each homered.

Somerset 3, Bishop McCort Catholic 2: In Somerset, Brooklyn Thomas pitched a complete game, allowing four hits while striking out six and walking two as the Golden Eagles edged the Crimson Crushers.

Payton Pollock and Elly Fletcher each had two hits. Fletcher scored on a wild pitch with two outs in the seventh.

Bishop McCort's Lariah Myers struck out 15 batters and allowed six hits in 6 2/3 innings. Myers had two hits and homered to give the Crimson Crushers a 2-1 advantage in the top of the third.

United 12, Ferndale 1 (5): Ella Worthington had three hits, including a home run, and three RBIs, and Kenedi Fiochetta had three hits, with two doubles, as the Lions beat the host Yellow Jackets.

Rebecca Dziagwa doubled. Worthington fanned 13 batters and allowed only one hit, a solo homer by Ferndale’s Nikara Conaway.

Forest Hills 10, Greater Johnstown 0 (5): In Sidman, Rhory Whetstone fanned six in a three-hit shutout, and Trista Cruley added two doubles and two RBIs to lead the Rangers past the Trojans.

Sydnee Satkovich added two hits, and Taylor Snyder tripled. Aivah Maul scored three runs, and Madison Gdula stole two bases.

Greater Johnstown received singles from Madison Beppler, Bella Synan and Gabrielle Wilfong.

Conemaugh Valley 11, West Branch 2: Megan Bilak went 3-for-5 with a home run, and Kylee Ferguson was 3-for-5 as the host Blue Jays beat the Warriors.

Laine Poborski had two hits for 7-1 Conemaugh Valley.

West Branch’s Haley Woodling and Finley O’Hare each hit run-scoring singles.

Central Cambria 7, Chestnut Ridge 2: In Ebensburg, Kaydence Sinclair went 3-for-4 with a double, a home run, three runs and two RBIs as the Red Devils topped the Lions.

Avery Biter, Camryn Matlin (two RBIs) and Katie Scott (double) each totaled two hits. Rowyn Ruddek doubled and struck out nine batters.

Chestnut Ridge’s Ally Yarnell drove in two runs, and Serenity Oeser doubled.

Northern Cambria 14-20, Blacklick Valley 2-4: In Northern Cambria, the Colts tallied 34 runs in a doubleheader sweep over the Vikings.

In Game 1, Ava Messina hit a pair of homers and drove in six runs as the Colts defeated the Vikings. Messina hit a three-run homer in the first inning and added another three-run bomb in the bottom of the second. Alyssa Yahner allowed only two hits in five innings, striking out eight and walking one. She tripled and drove in a run at the plate.

Lauren Rohrabaugh and Averi Yewcic each had a hit for Blacklick Valley.

In the second game, Northern Cambria had an eight-run sixth inning. Lainey Vasil had two hits, including a double, to pace the Colts, who collected 10 walks in the second game. Alayna Weller, Chloe Davis and Izzy McCabe each doubled.

Rohrabaugh homered. Zoey Richardson and Rohrabaugh each had two hits in Game 2.

North Star 11, Williamsburg 1 (6): In Willliamsburg, Morgan Snyder went 4-for-5 with a double, a home run, three runs and five RBIs as the Cougars pulled away from the Blue Pirates.

Alisha Yoder went 3-for-5 with a double, four runs and two RBIs. Emma Grigg and Lexi Swanson each doubled.

Penn Cambria 27, Bishop Carroll Catholic 4 (3): In Ebensburg, Emily Cully went 3-for-3 with three runs and four RBIs as the Panthers produced 15 hits and 27 runs.

Cully doubled, and Autumn Yeoman homered for Penn Cambria.

Emily Olienyk had two hits, including a home run, for Bishop Carroll.

River Valley 13, Conemaugh Township 7: In Blairsville, Madison Twinchek totaled two hits and three RBIs as the Panthers beat the Indians.

Scarlett Fridley fanned nine in seven innings and added two knocks at the plate. Trinity Boyd and Michaela Funyak each plated two runs.

Conemaugh Township’s Lily Zern totaled three hits. Josie Johns and Emily Purdy each added two knocks. Lena Dull and Addi Lasure each drove in two runs.

Southmoreland 12, Ligonier Valley 10: In Ligonier, the Scotties tallied nine runs in the top of the seventh inning to down the Rams.

Abigail Grabiak went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Makayla Brown (home run, three RBIs), Payton Leighty, Zoey Murphy (double, home run), Megan Potoka and Payton Shroyer each added two hits.

Ligonier Valley received two hits each from Scout Hinton, Maggie Peters (two RBIs), Alyssa Queer (triple), Abby Springer (two RBIs) and Elyse Witcoski (triple). Marlee Miller drove in two runs.

Baseball

United 10, Ferndale 3: Brendan James went 3-for-4 with a double, three runs and two RBIs to propel the Lions past the host Yellow Jackets.

Ryan Felix added two knocks, including a double, and three runs. Braden Butler and Joseph Howe each drove in two runs. Dmitri Worthington tripled. Connor Darr fanned four in five innings.

Ferndale’s Ian McClucas was 2-for-2.

Somerset 6, Bishop McCort Catholic 0: Colt Hagans fanned 10 batters in a two-hit and 89-pitch shutout, while doubling and driving in two runs at the plate to help the Golden Eagles beat the Crimson Crushers.

Ashton Harmon and Caden Stephens (double) each added two hits. Josh Wilmotte doubled and plated a run.

Bishop McCort’s Isaiah Lieb and Brady Page each singled.

Chestnut Ridge 12, Central Cambria 2 (5): In New Paris, Brody Halkovich had two doubles and a home run to drive in four runs and score twice in the Lions' win over the Red Devils.

Central Cambria’ J.D. Brouse hit a solo home run. Ben Howard doubled for the Red Devils.

Halkovich’s three-run blast highlighted Chestnut Ridge’s six-run, second inning. Tyler Yatta and Blake Conlon each had two hits.

Forest Hills 12, Greater Johnstown 6: Brody Custer was 3-for-4 with three runs scored, two RBIs and two doubles, while Xander Richardson and Jacob Singer (double) each added two knocks and two RBIs as the Rangers beat the host Trojans.

Singer fanned five in five innings.

Greater Johnstown’s Nykos Kobal drove in three runs, and L.J. Dunbar doubled.

Everett 2, Meyersdale 0: In Meyersdale, Chase Sherwood struck out 16 batters in a two-hit shutout, throwing 96 pitches, as the Warriors blanked the Red Raiders.

Sherwood threw an immaculate inning in the fifth. Nolan Whisel doubled and drove in a run. Jackson Dinnocenti provided a sacrifice fly.

Meyersdale’s Aiden Thomas went the distance, fanning six. Spencer Whitfield and Cole Yoder each singled.

Penn Cambria 12, Bishop Carroll Catholic 2 (5): In Lilly, Caden Gibbons went 2-for-2 with a double, a triple, two walks and three RBIs in the Panthers’ win.

Jamie Maybush had two hits, with a double. Ayden Himmer had two hits, including a triple, one run and three RBIs. Callen Gides doubled.

Ryen Myers and Zach Shedlock each singled and scored a run for Bishop Carroll.

Westmont Hilltop 19, Richland 6: The Hilltoppers plated 11 runs in the fifth inning and seven in the top of the seventh to pull away from the host Rams.

Westmont Hilltop’s Bryce Goodman had three hits, with a pair of doubles and a homer. He drove in three runs and scored three times.

The Hilltoppers collected 17 hits, and six players had two or more knocks in the game.

Winning pitcher Brady Gartner had three hits, with a double, and five RBIs for the Hilltoppers. Dominic Byer had three knocks, including a double, one run and one run batted in. Anthony Oakley doubled among his two hits.

Richland’s Caden Robertson had three hits. Ryan Ozog doubled, and Dylan Wyandt tripled.

Windber 19, Rockwood 12: In Rockwood, Lucas Rummel had four hits with a double, and Nathan Betcher smacked a homer as the Ramblers overcame a six-run deficit to win a slugfest against the Rockets.

Rockwood scored seven times in the second inning to lead 7-1, but Windber plated six in the third and six more runs in the sixth to take control. The Ramblers collected 18 hits.

Cole Mash doubled. Dylan Woodruff had three hits, two runs and two RBIs. Dalton Strick and Cole Heinrich each had two knocks.

Rockwood’s Eli Show and Nathan Show each had three hits. Cooper Harbaugh and Nathan Show (grand slam) each hit a home run.

Moshannon Valley 6, Cambria Heights 5 (8): In Houtzdale, the Black Knights scored twice in the bottom of the eighth to walk-off the Highlanders.

Bryce Lewis had three hits for Cambria Heights, which scored once in the top of the eighth to take a 5-4 advantage in extra innings.

Mason Abernathy went 3-for-5, stole two bases and drove in three runs for Moshannon Valley. Ian Dunsmore had two knocks.
