Deni Avdija put the team on his back when it mattered most. He dropped 40 points in the win over Phoenix, marking the third time in his career he crossed that threshold. The performance fueled a comeback that pushed this young Portland roster through to the postseason.

The Spurs won the season series 2-1, but none of those games featured Wembanyama in the lineup. Meanwhile, Avdija torched San Antonio all season long. He averaged 31.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, and eight assists across those three matchups while shooting 55 percent from the floor and 53 percent from beyond the arc.
Portland ranks seventh in total rebound percentage and ninth in pace. San Antonio sits sixth and 12th in those categories.
The Spurs roster includes veterans like Luke Kornet, Harrison Barnes, and Jrue Holiday, but much of the core lacks playoff experience. That dynamic adds another wrinkle to what should be a competitive series.
