Florida State lands in top five for key CB target

Florida State is heavily involved with 2027 three-star cornerback Romel Koon. Last week, he took a multi-day visit to see them, and they made a huge move in his recruitment.
Koon has offers from around 40 schools. However, per his social media, he's choosing between five schools. He's down to Indiana Hoosiers, Virginia Tech Hokies, Oregon State Beavers, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, and FSU Seminoles.

"DOWN TO 5… AGTG cover me through this process Thank you for all the ups and downs throughout the way (GODSPEED) THANK YOU ALL," Koon said.
The 6-foot, 165-pounder is the No. 1,002 overall recruit and the No. 92 cornerback per the 247Sports composite rankings. In the state of Tennessee, Koon is the No. 37 prospect.
The Seminoles are looking to bolster their haul in the secondary for the 2026 cycle. They already have four-star safety Mekhi Williams, three-star safety Jemari Foreman, and three-star cornerback Dayon Cooper committed.
Koon has an official visit to Virginia Tech on June 19. Now that Florida State is officially in his top five, look for Koon to lock one in with them as well.
