SB Nation’s 2027 NFL Mock Draft: What the Saints did in these way-too-early projections
· Yahoo Sports
The 2026 NFL Draft just ended, and we are already seeing the first crop of way too early 2027 mock drafts. While it’s always fun to predict which players will go where, this first batch of mocks require some extra thought because we’re looking a year into the future and of course, things never go as planned.
So, let’s take a look at SB Nation’s own James Dator and his thoughts on the New Orleans Saints in 2027.

Unfortunately, Dator doesn’t seem too optimistic on how the Saints 2026 season will go as he has them drafting 6th overall. However, he does have them selecting a defensive end in the first round which is something many Saints fans thought they would do this year. Because they didn’t, it’s looking more like Cam Jordan will be back in the black and gold his season. Jordan is coming off a 10.5 sack season, and it would be great if he could duplicate that success this year. However, at almost 37 years old, the odds will continue to stack up against him, so the Saints need to find his long-term replacement and soon. So, getting that player in the first-round next year is a very smart play even though I disagree with Dator on where the Saints make will make that selection.
