The New Orleans Saints, after the 2026 NFL Draft, added Martin Emerson Jr. and Anfernee Jennings as veteran additions to round out the roster.
But, aside from free agent additions, the Saints might be eyeing some trades to further complete the roster. One of those moves could even include trading away a player, as was the rumor on Wednesday with safety Justin Reid.
@Gordon_Hultz on Twitter/x spread a rumor that the Philadelphia Eagles had engaged in trade talks with the Saints about Reid. But the Saints' safety responded to the rumor, shutting down those rumors, and calling them "fabricated hearsay."
Saints' Justin Reid calls Eagles trade rumor 'fabricated hearsay'
"No need to humor fabricated hearsay," Reid posted on Twitter/x in response to being in trade rumors with the Eagles.
@Gordon_Hultz posted the following: "The Eagles have engaged in trade talks with the Saints for veteran safety Justin Reid."
While the Eagles could use a starting safety, and they might go out and sign or trade for a starter, there's been no indication that Reid is an option, let alone a trade candidate at all this offseason.
Reid himself is now shutting down those trade rumors, as the two-time Super Bowl champion seemingly has no plans on leaving the Saints in a trade this offseason.

While Reid wouldn't have a real say if Mickey Loomis and company decided to trade him, the Saints' eighth-year safety is not someone worth trading away.
He had one interception last year, which was a 49-yard pick-six. Sure, the Saints could get something decent in return for Reid, who is under contract on an affordable deal. But the Saints have little reason to trade him.
This is a baseless rumor from a random account on social media. Reid is completely shutting this trade rumor down, and doing so by calling it "fabricated hearsay."
