Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon haven’t patched things up, even though they were recently spotted together at a PSG Champions League match, according to fresh reports.

During the F1 season break, the two were seen at the quarter-final between Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool. Isack Hadjar was also there with them, and later on, all three appeared on Canal Plus to discuss how the campaign had gone so far.

Ocon and Gasly spent two seasons together as teammates at Alpine before Ocon made the move to Haas. Their time as teammates was marked by a couple of notable incidents: one in Australia that ended both of their races, and another in Monaco that resulted in damage to both cars.

Report claims Gasly and Ocon are still ‘bitter rivals’

According to Sport Bild, the two drivers didn’t choose to attend the PSG match together. Instead, both were invited by the club, which is how they ended up in the same place.

Although they were friends during their karting days, Gasly and Ocon are now said to be ‘bitter rivals,’ with no communication between them away from the track.

After Ocon left Alpine, the team fell to the bottom of the standings in 2025. But since then, they’ve turned things around thanks to regulation changes for 2026. Gasly currently holds eighth place in the championship with 15 points.

Ocon’s start hasn’t been as strong. He has just one point this year so far, despite Haas being on a similar level to Alpine. His future is now under question following public criticism from team principal Ayao Komatsu.

What was the cause of Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon’s falling out?

It’s been about 18 years since the two drivers had a falling out during their karting careers.

In an earlier season of Drive to Survive, Gasly explained that his ‘feud’ with Ocon goes back to 2008. He had passed his friend on the final lap but was later disqualified after a hard-fought race.

“I have given Esteban many, many chances to make this relationship work, but if someone doesn’t want to be friends, that’s fine with me,” he added.

Ocon left Alpine before the end of 2024, which gave Jack Doohan a chance to step in early. In exchange, he was allowed to start testing with Haas ahead of his move there.
