According to 98.5 The Sports Hub's Alex Barth, Jones said at a press conference on Thursday that his work ethic was the driving force behind him having a career year last season
"Just getting a chance to hone my game," Jones said. "I think I'm a player that can develop more and more every year."
Jones had a season worthy of commendation in 2025. The seven-year veteran recorded a career-high seven sacks last season. Jones also had 24 quarterback hits on the year.
The Ohio State product excelled in the Baltimore Ravens and the Tennessee Titans' defenses last season with his relentless pass-rushing abilities and his play in the second line of defense. Jones put together the best season of his career in 2025, and the ways in which his skills were put on display were telling.
The Patriots signed Jones to a three-year, $36.5 million deal in free agency. Jones is expected to add to New England's pass rush following the Patriots' run to the Super Bowl at the end of last season as their starting edge rusher in 2026.
