The Kansas City Chiefs, for most, nailed the NFL Draft and hit home runs on their two first-round draft selections.

But often, it is the players taken in the lower rounds who can really impact the roster, and for the Chiefs, one player who might be is running back Emmett Johnson.

Taken in the fifth-round, the expectations aren't that high for the running back, especially to be a contributor straight away.

But head coach Andy Reid has offered up a rather surprising comparison for Johnson.

"First of all, he's got a good feel for things, a smart kid, good kid," Reid via NFL.com. "He's got that lateral quickness. We had LeSean McCoy here for a bit and he has a little bit of that to him, where he can shift gears and still get himself up the field quickly."

Chiefs' run game set for big improvement

With Isiah Pacheco and Kareem Hunt no longer with the team, it is Kenneth Walker's show in Kansas City, and his addition alone should have a big spike in production.

But with Brashard Smith and even Johnson, the Chiefs have other options to rotate as well, and they aren't all plodders like Hunt. These guys are speed burners.

So, the Chiefs, in theory, should have a better run game than they did last season, although the bar isn't exactly set too high.

And if Johnson can become anywhere near the level of McCoy, then the Chiefs will have a rather good running back on their hands.
