The Los Angeles Dodgers are 22-14, sitting atop the NL West, but after losing Game 2 of the Houston Astros series, they need to win Game 3 on Wednesday night to get back on track.

With Tyler Glasnow on the bump, the Dodgers should feel confident about their odds. However, they were dealt some troubling news in the second inning, as according to Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic, Glasnow left the game early with trainers.

But why did Glasnow have to leave the game early? According to the Dodgers' announcement, Glasnow is dealing with low back pain.

What happened to Dodgers ace Tyler Glasnow?

In the bottom of the second-inning against the Astros, Glasnow came out of the game. He didn't make any pitches in the second inning, as he left his seventh start after allowing a solo homer in the first inning.

The full diagnosis of his back injury isn't known just yet, but Glasnow coming out in the middle of a start is not a good sign. Any pitcher leaving an outing this early is a worrying sign.

This season, Glasnow has a 2.56 ERA with 47 strikeouts and a 3-0 record with a 0.83 WHIP and 13 walks in 38.2 innings pitched.

MOREDodgers still have a Roki Sasaki problem

He was having a great season and might've been able to challenge Paul Skenes and other NL pitchers for the Cy Young award. However, this injury now has the righty at risk of missing some extended time.

Blake Snell is currently out, but the Dodgers do have strong starting pitching depth, so even if Glasnow misses some time, they should be able to be okay going forward.

But that doesn't take away from how devastating this Glasnow injury could wind up being if it's a long-term issue. Back issues can be tricky, and time will tell how severe this can be for the Dodgers righty.
