The winning ticket for Friday’s Lotto Max jackpot worth a cool $70 million was sold somewhere in Brampton.

The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation said the payout would be a great gift for Mother’s Day.
The OLG said, in addition to the Lotto Max winner, a Maxmillions ticket bought in Milton will be shared three ways — $333,333.40 — after two other winning tickets were sold in Quebec and Western Canada respectively.
Multiple Maxplus winners
OLG also said two Maxplus tickets worth $100,000 each were sold in the United Counties of Prescott and Russell in Eastern Ontario.
In addition, two other Maxplus tickets worth $100,000 each were bought in Simcoe County and Kitchener.
Another winning $100,000 Maxplus ticket bought in Stoney Creek will be split evenly among two other winners from the Parry Sound and Nipissing area and Western Canada.
OLG said three Encore tickets worth $100,000 each were sold in Toronto, the Kawartha Lakes region, and Lucan in Southwestern Ontario.
“Congratulations to all our winners of these life-changing prizes,” a spokesperson for the Crown corporation said in a statement on Saturday, adding winners should check their numbers using the OLG app or by visiting a lottery retailer.
Last week, OLG said the Lotto 6/49 $5 million Classic Jackpot was won by someone who purchased a ticket in Stoney Creek .
Last names no longer identified
Meanwhile, the lottery agency also said this month that it will no longer identify the last names of jackpot winners , citing privacy concerns.
Previously, the winner’s full name appeared on the cheques they were holding and in news releases.
Now, only their first name and the first initial of their last name will be made public.
The OLG said, since 2009, Lotto Max players in Ontario have won more than $9.9 billion, including 122 jackpot wins and 1,003 Maxmillions prizes.
