The NAHL's Corpus Christi IceRays have officially announced that goaltender Xander Miceli will be playing for the Wisconsin Badgers next season.

Miceli posted a 2.95 goals-against average in his 34 appearances with the IceRays this past season. Overall, he had a .900 save percentage and will join Daniel Hauser and Cornell transfer Alexis Cournoyer.

"I want to thank God, my family, coaches, advisor, trainer, billets, teammates and everyone who has supported me throughout this journey," Miceli said. Go Badgers!”

According to Badgers' Todd Milewsiki, Anton Castro won't be back with UW. Knowing how well both Hauser and Cournoyer played last season, the team should have no issues swapping out Miceli for Castro.

Castro, the sophomore out of Minnesota, started one game during his freshman season but didn't make a single appearance for the Badgers as a sophomore.

Now, Wisconsin turns to Miceli, a Nashville native, as its No. 3 goaltender.
