NEET UG: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has activated the refund portal for NEET UG 2026 candidates, allowing students to submit their bank account details for the refund of examination fees after the cancellation of the May 3 exam.
In a public notice issued on May 22, the agency said that candidates can now log in to the NEET UG 2026 registration portal and access the dedicated refund link using their application credentials. The facility will remain available till May 27, 2026, up to 11:50 PM.

The refund process comes in the wake of the NEET UG 2026 paper leak controversy, after which the examination conducted earlier this month was scrapped. The re-examination is now scheduled to be held on June 21.
Candidates asked to submit bank account details
According to the latest notice, candidates must provide their preferred bank account details on the refund portal for processing of the fee refund. The agency has also given students the option to upload a cancelled cheque to avoid errors in bank account information.
NTA clarified that once the details are submitted, they will be treated as final and no further corrections or modifications will be allowed.
“The facility for submission of bank account details shall remain live from 22 May 2026 to 27 May 2026,” the notice stated.
The agency has also advised students not to initiate any chargeback requests related to the NEET UG 2026 examination fee.
Refund amount to differ by category
Earlier, the NTA had confirmed that candidates would not be required to pay any additional fee for appearing in the re-examination.
The refund amount will vary depending on the candidate’s category:
General category candidates will receive Rs 1700
OBC and EWS candidates will receive Rs 1600
SC, ST and PwD candidates will receive Rs 1000
The refund is expected to be processed through the same payment source used during registration, including bank accounts, debit cards, credit cards, UPI platforms, or digital wallets.
Students who made payments through cyber cafes or third-party accounts may have to coordinate separately with the person through whom the transaction was completed.
NEET UG re-exam scheduled for June 21
Meanwhile, the NTA has reiterated that the NEET UG 2026 re-examination will be conducted on June 21 from 2 PM to 5:15 PM in pen-and-paper mode.
The agency has already clarified that candidates will not be allowed to change the language medium selected during the original application process. However, students were earlier permitted to revise their preferred exam city choices.
Candidates facing issues related to their previous exam centres have been advised to email their complaints along with supporting documents to the official helpdesk.
