Social media reacts to Nebraska softball advancing to the WCWS

Nebraska softball is headed to Oklahoma City. The Huskers defeated Oklahoma State 9-1/F5 on Saturday to advance to the Women's College World Series for the ninth time in program history and first time since 2013.

The Huskers trailed Oklahoma State early but Nebraska blew the game open in the fifth, scoring seven runs. Hannah Coor got it started, tying the game in the third with an RBI double. She then made a diving catch in the fourth before striking a solo home run in the fifth.

Alina Felix drove in two runs after Nebraska earned a run off a walk, pushing the lead to 6-1. Lauren Camenzind then capped off the inning with a three-run home run to propel the Huskers' lead.

Alexis Jensen threw four innings and allowed only two hits and one run. She struck out seven while only walking one batter. With the win and seven strikeouts today, Jensen now holds the single-season freshman record in wins (24 wins - Jenny Voss) and strikeouts (210 Ks - Lori Sippel).

Jordy Frahm closed the game out in the fifth, allowing one hit and striking out two. Through five postseason games, Jensen and Frahm have allowed only two earned runs in 33 innings (0.42 ERA).

Nebraska improved to 51-6 on the season, one win shy of the school record (52 victories - 2000). The Huskers finished the 2026 season with a 20-1 home record, tied for the most in team history.

The nine runs scored were the most ever by a Nebraska team in an NCAA Super Regional game. It was also the Huskers' 14th run-rule victory of the season.
