How Tony Pollard reacted to Titans public flirtation with Jeremiyah Love
· Yahoo Sports
Jeremiyah Love is not the Tennessee Titans' running back, despite months of speculation and pre-draft visits leading up to the 2026 NFL Draft. The Titans, in fact, never had the chance to draft Love, who went No. 3 overall to the Arizona Cardinals one selection before the Titans ended up with Ohio State receiver Carnell Tate.
Still, Titans running back Tony Pollard heard the speculation.

Coming off back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons since joining the Titans in 2024, Pollard returns for his third year with his home-state team. Along with fourth-year back Tyjae Spears and fifth-round rookie Nick Singleton, Pollard leads the Love-less Titans backfield and is doing so without any of the natural animosity that could've come from his team's public flirtation with a potential replacement.
"I know in this league, it's their job to try to replace you," Pollard said. "That's what comes with the business. To be honest, I wasn't really paying attention to it. Not much. I'd seen it, but I've got a wife and three kids and my wife's pregnant so I've got a lot of things that keep me occupied."
Pollard's wife, for what it's worth, is due with their fourth child "any day now." That's one of the reasons why Pollard says it wasn't hard to avoid fretting about the Love rumors.
Titans running backs coach Randy Jordan, one of the few staffers retained from former coach Brian Callahan's regime, calls Pollard a pro's pro. He says he never felt the need to address the Love rumors with Pollard or with Spears because the two of them understand what it takes to be a pro and the business-side dealings that come with that.
Both Pollard and Spears are entering the final years of their Titans contracts. Singleton, the fifth-round pick out of Penn State, is part of the youth movement in the Titans' backfield alongside 2025 sixth-round pick Kalel Mullings, but Pollard still figures to be the Titans' top backfield option for 2026.
