NASCAR made history after the weekend at Charlotte in 2026

NASCAR made history at Charlotte Motor Speedway. For the first time in NASCAR history, all three series (Cup, O'Reilly, and Truck) were shortened due to rain, as reported by Seth Eggert. Most notably, the Coca-Cola 600 was shortened due to rain in the Final Stage of the event.

The NASCAR O'Reilly Series barely made it to the end of Stage 2. After a massing oil cleanup, NASCAR rolled five laps under caution with no chance of throwing the green flag. The fog worsened while the sport lost the track as rain started to fall in Charlotte. It was a controversial decision, but NASCAR didn't restart after the weather.

On Sunday morning, the NASCAR Truck Series race was shortened due to a running clock at Noon. None of the three races reached their scheduled distance. It was a very disappointing weekend at Charlotte. NASCAR hopes for better weather at Nashville Superspeedway this weekend.
