Rams DB Quentin Lake teases Aaron Donald return: 'It's a matter of when'
· Yahoo Sports
Does Quentin Lake know something that no one else does? With rumors swirling about Aaron Donald potentially coming out of retirement, the Los Angeles Rams do-it-all defender teased No. 99’s return on social media.
He posted on his Instagram story that it’s “not a matter of IF! It’s a matter of when”, adding a shushing emoji, suggesting he’s keeping a secret.

Donald has broken his silence on the matter, saying he’s “flirting” with the idea of coming back but he has to see if the fire in him “can light back up.” Nothing is definite, though.

Donald's contract with the Rams expired after the 2025 season, so he'd have to come back as an unrestricted free agent and sign an entirely new deal. That's not a major hurdle, though, and gives the Rams the flexibility to work something out if No. 99 does want to return.
Sean McVay said Tuesday that he thinks Donald could still play "at a high clip" if he were to come back at the age of 35, but he hasn't talked to the future Hall of Famer about a return.
