Every year the PGA Tour arrives at Muirfield Village, the players are tested to the absolute maximum during The Memorial Tournament.

And the golf course almost always identifies the best player.

Jack Nicklaus himself won The Memorial Tournament in 1977 and 1984, so he clearly knows what it takes to get the job done at Muirfield Village.

Nicklaus always listens to players regarding potential improvements to Muirfield Village, and he has made numerous changes in the past.

The course looks to be in as great a shape as ever this year, and although the test is incredibly challenging, it is a very fair setup.

I think the PGA Tour did a really good job today in setting the pins, Nicklaus said.

The pins are all gettable, and if the Tour had hidden the pins today, the scores would have been so high.

No, 65 is a sensational score today. I can’t believe that anybody could shoot a 65 out there today.

J.T Poston was the man who posted that sensational score on Friday at Muirfield Village.

Sensational putting was the bedrock of J.T. Poston’s round

Poston carded nine pars, eight birdies and a solitary bogey on Friday at The Memorial and he leads by one heading into the third round.

Muirfield Village really showed its teeth on Friday, with the average score jumping up to 74.119.

Poston played some truly sensational golf on day two and a lot of his good work was done with the putter.

The 33-year-old gained more than four strokes on the field on the greens on day two at Muirfield Village.

Jack Nicklaus was clearly very impressed by what he saw from J.T. Poston at Muirfield Village on Friday.

Surely it’s impossible to get a better compliment than that in the game of golf?
