The stage is set for the Bafana legends of the 2010 FIFA World Cup squad, who will play the Mexican rivals in a “rematch” on Monday, 8 June.

Their friendly game comes days before the national teams clash in an opening match on Thursday.

The game will take place exactly 16 years after the countries first met at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. The countries drew 1-1 in a match at Soccer City [now FNB Stadium].

2010 REMATCH: WHEN DOES IT TAKE PLACE?

The original South African and Mexican players from the 2010 FIFA World Cup are set for a rematch on Monday, 8 June.

The friendly – between the “legends” squad – will take place at the Pachuca Hildago Stadium in Mexico.
