Every Monroe-area LSWA Class 5A All-State baseball, softball honoree

MONROE — The Louisiana Sports Writers Association announced its Class 5A All-State baseball and softball teams for 2026 on Wednesday, June 10.

Northeast Louisiana is well-represented on these teams as West Monroe's Evie West was named the Most Outstanding Player in softball. The rising junior played a major role in the Lady Rebels being LHSAA Division I nonselect semifinalists this spring as she batted .505 with 19 home runs and 60 RBIs. West also anchored West Monroe's rotation with an 18-4 record and 3.53 ERA.
West's older sister, rising senior and Georgia commit Ava, also made Class 5A All-State after hitting .463 with 16 home runs and 58 RBIs. Bradyn Cupit and Jackson Lee, who graduated from West Monroe and Ruston, respectively, and Lady Bearcats rising junior Aubrey Stoehr made Class 5A All-State as well.
Cupit, an LSU signee, went 7-3 on the mound with a 0.92 ERA and 100 strikeouts in 60⅔ innings for West Monroe. Lee (Co-Lin signee) had a .450 average with two home runs, six doubles and 10 triples while Stoehr batted .494 with nine home runs for Ruston.
Ruston's JP Moak, Peyton Nations and Tyler Roach; West Monroe's Ryder DeJean, Peyton Starr and Kade Thomas and Neville's Hunter Robinson made All-State honorable mention in baseball. Local softball All-State honorable mentions included Ouachita's Taylor Madison, Alayjha Matthews and Malayah Vaughn; Neville's Hannah Creighton and Kameya West-Robinson and West Monroe's Parker Burford.
