Mitchell's Emma Reinesch takes third at SDGA Junior Prep Tour stop in Brandon

Jun. 11—BRANDON — Emma Reinesch, a rising sophomore from Mitchell, scored a third-place finish in the girls age 14-15 division during the South Dakota Golf Association Junior Prep Tour event at Brandon Golf Course on Thursday.

With a score of 98 strokes, Reinesch slotted in behind Sioux Falls' Lauren Roerig (91) and Brookings' Tafney Lunn (92) in the standings. Chamberlain's Creed Harmon (120) was ninth.
Among girls 16-18, Ava Crooks, of Astoria, topped the leaderboard with a score of 80. Meanwhile, Sioux Falls' Drew Velasquez shot an even-par 71 to win the boys 16-18 division. Mason Moody (87) and Kalan Rients (107), both of Mitchell, were among the other golfers in the course for the boys 16-18 division, as was Tyndall's Michael Branaugh (88).
Brandon's Max Vincelli, the top performer in the boys 14-15 group, also shot an even-par 71. Mitchell's Eli Konrad (89) was 16th in the division. The Howard pair of Dresyn Bolden (81) and Max Shumaker (84) were fifth and ninth, respectively.
In the intermediate boys 12-13 division, which plays 18 holes, Mitchell's Jack Gillen came in eighth with a round of 85 strokes, and Griffin Lyle, also of Mitchell, shot a 91 to come in 10th. Sioux Falls' Lincoln Trasamar finished with a 2-over 73 to win the division.
The next Metro Region SDGA Junior Prep Tour event is June 15 at Elmwood Golf Course in Sioux Falls.
For the SDGA Mini Tour nine-hole divisions, Mitchell's Brooks Aadland finished second in the boys age 10-11 division with a score of 32 strokes at Hidden Valley Golf Course, a par-3 course, in Brandon. Sioux Falls' Rylan Karels (28) was the top performer.
In the girls 10-11 ranks, Mitchell Berkli Mills (41) was third. Sioux Falls' Allyson Sinksen paced the division at 34 strokes.
Mitchell's Kendall Aadland shot a 41 and was third among girls 12-13, as Dakota Dunes' Nichole Yang (35) took the top spot. Sioux Falls' Alex Heibult (39) was tops in the nine-hole boys 12-13 division.
Among the age 9-and-under girls, Salem's Marney Heisinger (45) was third, and Mitchell's Morli Miles (49) was fourth. Sioux Falls' Olivia Schonhardt (41) topped the standings.
Salem's Morris Heisinger (37) came in second for the 9-and-under boys, right behind first-place Miles Schock (36), of Sioux Falls.
The next Metro Region SDGA Junior Mini Tour event is June 15 at Northern Links Golf Course in Sioux Falls.
