Lightning scare looms over UFC White House card, fights delayed

The UFC Freedom 250 event is now under the threat of lightning.
The chance of lighting striking within 10 miles of the White House is 70% to 80%, according to the National Weather Service.

The event was scheduled to start at 8 p.m. ET and the highest likelihood lightning will strike is between 7:45 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., said Luis Rosa of the National Weather Service.
He said the chances of it happening are 70% to 80%.
A UFC representative said the Paramount+ livestream of the event will start at 8 p.m. but the fights will not begin until 9 p.m. The seven fight-card will feature two title fights.
Thunderstorms are in the area of King George, Virginia and there’s a high likelihood the storms will move into the Capitol Beltway and within 10 miles of the White House, said Luis Rosa of the National Weather Forecast.
