Georgia baseball suffers season-ending loss vs. Oklahoma in CWS
· Yahoo Sports
The Georgia Bulldogs have been eliminated from the 2026 College World Series following a heartbreaking 11-4 loss versus the Oklahoma Sooners. The Dawgs were widely regarded as one of the top teams in college baseball throughout the majority of the season, but Georgia ultimately fell just short at the CWS in Omaha with a pair of losses to the Sooners.
The Bulldogs’ pitching staff as a whole had one of their worst outings of the season against the Sooners on Wednesday evening. Georgia used six total pitchers throughout the matchup, and the staff surrendered 11 total runs on 15 hits in the loss. Paul Farley and Matt Scott were responsible for the majority of the damage, as the duo allowed eight earned runs over 7.1 total innings of work.

"We played a really hot baseball team, they are playing extremely well right now and at their peak," Georgia coach Wes Johnson said after the game. "They executed pitches all night long, got off great swings in hitters counts. They didn't miss their pitch. We had some chances. I wish them the best of luck in the national championship series. Skip (Johnson) does a great job."
Georgia was extremely underwhelming on the offensive side of the diamond tonight. The Bulldogs drove in four total runs on just six hits, as Georgia found themselves behind on the scoreboard just three innings into the game. Star shortstop Kolby Branch and right fielder Ryan Black each had two runs batted in during the loss, as the duo was the only source of offense in the Dawgs’ lineup against Oklahoma.
Georgia will end the 2026 campaign with an overall record of 53-14 (23-7 SEC). The Bulldogs fell just short of the CWS Final, but 2026 was a historic campaign for Georgia baseball nonetheless.
