Carlo Ancelotti’s sde have confirmed Raphinha has a muscle injury and will now undergo “intensive treatment,” per Globo.

“On Saturday, athlete Raphinha underwent an imaging exam that confirmed a muscle injury in the posterior region of his right thigh,” said CBF in a statemanet.

“The player will follow an intensive treatment protocol, monitored by the Brazilian National Team’s medical team, aiming for his recovery and return to activities as quickly as possible.”

According to AS, the injury will keep Raphinha out of Brazil’s final group game against Scotland at the very least, but he has not been ruled out of the World Cup as things stand.

The report adds that “his participation in the tournament is in doubt, but he is not expected to be dropped from the squad.”

The hope seems to be that Raphinha could return if Brazil make it through to the latter stages of the tournament, but we’ll have to wait and see how he recovers.

Get well soon, Raphinha.
