Miles Russell authored a nice Father's Day gift Sunday when he had his caddie hand the bag and bib over Miles' dad, Joe, on the 18th hole at Shinnecock Hills.

The 17-year-old Russell first checked with a rules official to get the OK, then, after hitting his approach shot into the 72nd hole, had his swing coach/caddie Ramon Bescansa walk over to Joe along the fairway ropes.

Joe, who according to NBC's Mike Tirico was unaware this was going to happen, took over bag duties and walked up the 18th fairway with his son.

Russell shot even-par 70 in the final round to finish at 7 over par, two back of Jackson Koivun. While Russell is the world's No. 1-ranked junior, Koivun is the world's top-ranked amateur. Koivun, however, is now turning professional. The Auburn standout birdied his final hole as an amateur to shoot 68 and finish at 5 over.

The two played side-by-side over the weekend.

In the battle for low am, Oklahoma rising senior Ryder Cowan was at 3 over par through four holes when Koivun and Russell wrapped.
