Reports indicated that after the Miami Heat traded for Giannis Antetokounmpo, they could be interested in making a run at Ja Morant. Morant, one of the more polarizing players in the NBA at the moment, is still a very good player.

However, because of the Antetokounmpo deal, some don't believe the Heat actually have a chance to trade for him.

The reason for that is that Antetokounmpo controls the ball just as much as any player in the NBA.

“Think of the rumored destinations for Morant before the offseason. Sacramento? Just drafted Darius Acuff. Miami? Traded for Giannis Antetokounmpo, who's not exactly a point guard, but controls the ball as much as most of them do. New Orleans? Didn't add a point guard this year, but took Jeremiah Fears last year, and reports indicate they are no longer in pursuit. The Nets were a blank enough slate of a roster to pursue Morant on talent alone, but they landed Mikel Brown Jr. at No. 6,” Sam Quinn wrote.

I don't love the idea of Morant landing in Miami for a few different reasons, but his lack of a jump shot around Antetokounmpo would certainly add to that.

Having him and Bam Adebayo with Antetokounmpo just doesn't really make a whole lot of sense.

It would, in fact, be a very ugly offense to watch unless they just absolutely dominated teams inside, which would lead to some defensive schemes that we've seen Antetokounmpo struggle with in the past.
