England fan was invited to meet Donald Trump during 2026 World Cup

Henry has previously shared how he was shocked that American stadiums allow fans to drink beer in the stands during matches, something which is not permitted at soccer matches in the United Kingdom.

Now, the English supporter, who has been documenting his adventures at the World Cup via his social media platforms, has revealed he got the chance to take a photo with Trump.

When explaining the experience, he stated that he now understands ‘the American dream’.

Writing on his X/Twitter page, he shared: “I now understand the American dream. I came to the World Cup because I was offered a last-minute ticket to watch England play Croatia in Dallas and I started documenting my journey.

“The content went viral on social media. So much so, the President of the United States saw it himself. I was invited to attend the grand opening of the great American state fair for freedom 250 and halfway through Donald Trump’s speech, I was told to come and wait backstage for a photograph.

“This sort of thing could only happen in America. As an Englishman, I never really understood what America has to make it ‘the land of opportunity’. But results speak for themselves.”

The English and the USA have always had an interesting relationship, while the 2026 World Cup has seen a number of soccer fans from the UK showing their admiration for the US this summer.

One supporter recently claimed ‘we owe apologies to America’ after seeing the stadiums at this year’s tournament.

Meanwhile, another England fan in the USA for the World Cup showed his love for the American beef he tried.
