SAFFAS FANS TROLL CANADA AHEAD OF THE BAFANA MATCH

On their Facebook account, Canada Soccer has attracted the attention of many Bafana Bafana fans.

In the comment section under every post, South Africans have mercilessly teased their Round of 32 opponents.

Some joked about the beef between US rapper Kendrick Lamar and Canadian performer Drake, while others claimed that Canada should have spent their time and energy on sports like ice hockey or basketball.

Many warned the team not to underestimate Bafana, referring to their win over South Korea, which was deemed the favourite to win the match.

Meanwhile, Canadians have also been caught trash-talking South African ahead of the match. Will they eat their words on Sunday evening?

 RO32 FIRST FOR BOTH COUNTRIES

The historic clash will mark the first time both South Africa and Canada have reached the FIFA World Cup knockout stage.

Bafana Bafana secured their place in Group A with a 1-0 win over South Korea, while Canada finished second in Group B behind Switzerland.

SA has only ever played Canada once – at an international friendly in 2007 in Durban, where they won 2-0.
