Former Jets RB Chris Johnson reveals ALS diagnosis

The New York Jets are among NFL teams sending support to former All-Pro running back Chris Johnson after he revealed a sad health update.

On Monday, Johnson told "Good Morning America" he has been diagnosed with ALS back in 2025 and is currently struggling with the illness better known as "Lou Gehrig's disease."
As displayed in the interview, Johnson struggles to speak and admitted the disease "progressed faster than I ever imagined."
Johnson said he was going public with his diagnosis to raise awareness.
The 2014 campaign was Johnson’s lone season with the Jets.
