Coco Gauff had such a heartwarming reaction to beating Pegula on Wimbledon's Centre Court

For the first time in her young and already pretty accomplished career, Coco Gauff will finally play in a Wimbledon semifinal. The United States tennis star cemented her best-ever Wimbledon finish so far after beating Jessica Pegula in three sets on Tuesday. The match took place on Centre Court, which is, of course, the most famous tennis court in the world.

But we already knew a 22-year-old star like Gauff was capable of potentially going all the way in the biggest tournament in tennis while shining at the biggest venue. She's the youngest since 2007 to reach all four Grand Slam semis, which is predictable.

It seems that before this edition of Wimbledon, Gauff may not have been all that confident in her own abilities.

In her post-match interview, Gauff revealed that her match with Pegula was the first time she wasn't nervous to play on Centre Court in seven years of playing in some capacity at Wimbledon. Wait, really?

I suppose all of that makes sense. Gauff is immensely talented but still so young. It's only natural for her to take a long time to get used to playing on the highest-profile stage in tennis. And her nerves faded away at the right time. We'll see whether she can win her first Wimbledon title later this week.

Who will Coco Gauff play in the Wimbledon semifinals?

Gauff will square off against either Naomi Osaka or Karolína Muchová on Thursday, July 9th.
