Following another devastating defeat at the world’s biggest stage, Germany is under massive pressure. Die Mannschaft have now failed to reach the Round of 16 in three consecutive tournaments and just about everyone is calling for big change within the DFB. Even Julian Nagelsmann himself admitted that a big change is needed.

Curiously enough, it is the manager themselves that has the biggest impact on the team’s success and vision. If Nagelsmann truly believed that the national team needed a big change, why did he refuse to make tactical adjustments? Why did he fail to remove a struggling Leroy Sané from the lineup? Why did he not call up versatile young talents such as Tom Bischof or Said El Mala?

Well if there was one thing that Nagelsmann was right about it’s that change was coming. Unfortunately for the former Bayern Munich boss, he was right. Julian Nagelsmann has since stepped down from the national team after heavy pressure, and an impending sack if he refused to step down.

After so much disappointment for fans in recent years, there is some serious desperation for big change and hopefully the next coach can bring Germany back to the success many have come to know in the past.
