Indiana Fever superstar guard Caitlin Clark returned to action on Wednesday night after recovering from a back injury suffered last month.
Clark played 16 minutes in her return to action against the Los Angeles Sparks and clearly had some rust to shake off, as she shot 4-of-12 from the floor and scored just nine points.

The most important thing for Clark was that she came out of her first game back with no issues.
“I feel good. Just taking it game by game,” Clark said.

Is Caitlin Clark playing tonight?
No, Caitlin Clark won’t be suiting up against the Mercury on Thursday night, the Indiana Fever confirmed earlier in the day.
The plan as of right now is for Clark to play in Indiana’s next game against the Las Vegas Aces on Sunday.
No Alyssa Thomas vs. Caitlin Clark drama
Clark’s absence on Thursday night takes some of the excitement out of the contest between the Fever and Mercury.
That’s because we won’t see Clark and Mercury forward Alyssa Thomas on the floor together after Thomas hit Clark with multiple cheap shots in the last meeting between these two squads on June 24.

Thomas was given a one-game suspension for the fist to the throat she delivered on Clark. She has since served that suspension.
The Mercury forward will be suiting up on Thursday night and it’ll be interesting to see if any of Clark’s teammates who are playing seek retaliation for what happened.
Barring a matchup in the playoffs, Thomas and Clark won’t square off again until next season.
